Tavares Jamal Cherry was born to Cheryl Denise Cherry and Sedric Jerome Willis, in Chicago, Il. Growing up, Tavares was always fascinated with the arts. In high school (Joliet West High School), he became involved in drama and film production. He was very active and outgoing in many after school programs and had grown fond of someday working in the entertainment business. At 16, he was scouted in a barbershop to become a model which lead to a very rewarding career in modeling.
