Taka Arai is a native of Japan residing in the United States. He founded Pathfinder Pictures in the year 2000 as a production and North American distribution company. Pathfinder Pictures has produced films includes "Until The Night" (Norman Reedus, Kathleen Robertson, Sean Young) "Yellow" (John Cho) and "Shadow Fury" (Sam Bottoms, Pat Morita, Fred Williamson, Alexander Kamp) and is currently active in independent film development, production and distribution. Pathfinder also maintains alliances with Japanese film production partners and distribution companies.He spent four years in Japan from 1990 to 1994 as the Director of Advertising and Publicity for Warner Bros. Japan (WBJ), including Buena Vista International releases. He released a total of 64 films under his direction as head of marketing including "The Bodyguard," "JFK," "The Fugitive," "The Lion King," "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle," and "The Silence of the Lambs". Gross sales generated during tenure at WBJ reached a record for the entire history of Warner Bros. Japan.Prior to working at WBJ, he worked in advertising / marketing for major agencies as a creative director and also held the position of general manager. His advertising background includes art direction, creative direction/management, and marketing. While working for one of the world's largest advertising agencies, Hakuhodo Advertising-Los Angeles, he received numerous creative awards including The Clio Awards, Belding Awards, NY Art Directors Club, LA Art Directors Club and IBA Awards.
