Tae Brooks was born into a musical family of songwriters and producers. He started his singing career at the early age of 10 as a background vocalist for artists recording in his family's garage studio. At a talent audition in 2010 in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio Tae was recruited by a Los Angeles talent manager. This led to a 6 month stint in LA before his family decided to relocate to accommodate increasing opportunities. Tae's brother, Tadjh Brooks, stepped into the role of Tae's lead producer and engineer. The brothers, working in the studio with their father, Billay, emerged with a hybrid pop/urban musical sound that Tae was ready to share. His YouTube music channel was launched in March of 2011.Tae's channel was an immediate success, being awarded #57 most subscribed musician channel in the month of April 2011. His video content has generated over 5 million views with a mix of vlogs, web series show, original songs and covers of charting songs with a wide variety of Artists ranging from Michael Jackson "I Want You Back" to Rhianna's "You Da One" and even covering rapper Lil' Wayne's "How To Love" with his bother, Brandon (Juke) as featured rapper on this and several other videos on his YouTube channel. The team of brothers quickly became known for overhauling cover songs and creating signature originals that allow Tae to showcase his naturally soulful sound. Brooks' first single "Thumbs Up" was released on iTunes February 22, 2011 and was well received. As of 2014 he has released five singles through his independent label Carriage House Entertainment. Tae's single "It's Always Been You" was released on January 2, 2014 ahead of his debut EP. His EP titled "On My Own" was released Sept 30, 2014 and climbed to 149 on the Pop ChartsAttention from YouTube and growing social networks has led to voice-over work, including being the current male lead voice of the Disney 365 theme song and the voice and singing role of Michael Jackson in the animated TV series of Black Dynamite. He has appeared in several videos and is the voice in the intro/outro on the channel of popular YouTube personality Lamarr Wilson. Tae is also a main character in an Educational Series for GrapeSeed, which is an international English learning program. Tae Brooks' covers have gained him notoriety in music circles and propelled him forward as a fan favorite with his fan base calling themselves "The ShawTaes". On July 14, 2011 Billboard Magazine named Brooks as #19 on the Next Big Sound chart featuring the fastest growing artists across social media. His cover of Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" was listed in the top 8 winners in the Perez Hilton's Can YOU Sing? Competition. In June of 2012 the The Huffington Post featured his cover of Justin Bieber's "Die In Your Arms" as one of 10 Amazing Renditions. In his August 2013 cover of Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" he does product representation for Bigote Sneaker Company in the video. In December 2013 he placed #4 in Ryan Seacrest's Miley Cyrus "Wrecking Ball" Favorite Cover Contest, the youngest artist in the contest.
