Steven Calcote is an award-winning filmmaker who has created ground-breaking film, television, commercial, and web projects for such clients as Sony Pictures, Disney, BBC America, Nickelodeon, HBO, AT&T, Industrial Light & Magic, Sega, Adidas, Electronic Arts, the National Hockey League, Dimension Films, Boeing, Spike TV, Nexon, and Tokyopop.Recently, he directed the motion graphics intensive high-energy television pilot "The 5th Hour" for Nickelodeon as part of the network's effort to engage new demographics. When the National Hockey League decided to enliven its franchise mascots with new CGI animation, Steven directed comic book legend Stan Lee in a commercial for the Versus network to excite sports fans across the nation.Steven blended green screen and location shooting across Los Angeles for the new eye-popping hit music video on MTV, "Hey L.A.," starring pop sensation Ryan Beatty and sponsored by AT&T.An international filmmaker, Steven worked with adidas and the NBA to engage millions of youths across Asia. He collaborated with OgilvyOne to develop and direct an epic five-part online mini-series filled with hours of original live-action content featuring the greatest stars of basketball and cutting-edge interactive games.He currently directs "Shelf Life," a live-action web series that "Collider" calls "hilarious." "Shelf Life" features some of today's hottest voice actors in animation and video games, and guest starring fan-favorites such as Aaron Douglas ("Battlestar Galactica") and Phil Morris ("Seinfeld"). He works with the show's creators to develop content, has directed more than twenty episodes across two seasons, and is in pre-production for two more seasons.
