Stephanie Sorensen is an American actress. Her ancestors, the Zaluskas, emigrated to the United States in the late 1800s to Bridgehampton, New York. Her mother was a principal of an elementary school and her father was a Vietnam veteran and a horn player for a drum and bugle corp. Stephanie was influenced by her mother's dedication to education and her father's passion for music and so she spent her earlier years achieving academic honors and being involved in instrumental studies. One of her fond memories is the early mornings her step-father drove her to band rehearsal so she could achieve principal chair.Stephanie graduated high school with Cum Laude and a Derby Lane Scholarship to college. Against fierce competition she was accepted into the University of Florida where pledged Sigma Kappa Sorority. At the University of Florida, Stephanie played for the school jazz band. Later, she transferred to the University of South Florida where she performed in the symphony and in the Clearwater Wind Ensemble as an alto saxophonist. She graduated college with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Stephanie used her education to become a highly effective educator for autism and a volunteer fire fighter for her community.It was not until participating in the 48 Hour Film Festivals, that Stephanie realized her strong passion for acting. She has studied the Eric Morris Method underneath acting coach Kathy Laughlin, under Eugenie Bondurant with the Andi Matheny Acting Studios and participated in many acting workshops.
