Sophie Don is an Australian actress born August 26, 1991 in Sydney, New South Wales to parents Pauline, a social worker and Bruce, an optometrist. She attended Moriah College in Sydney where she graduated in 2009 with top marks, before going on to study Journalism at the University of Technology Sydney. After deferring her second semester, she auditioned for acting schools and was accepted into the highly regarded acting course at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane. In her final year at QUT, Sophie landed the lead role in the production of "Mnemonic", directed by renowned theatre director Adam Cook. Weeks later, Sophie was offered the lead role of Marjorie Philbrook in part two of Yesterday Is History (2014) - a docu-drama miniseries produced by Sparke Films which was later sold to the History Channel. Whilst on set, director Luke Sparke was so impressed with her performance that he asked her to audition for the lead female role of 'Anya' in his upcoming feature Red Billabong (2016) . Less than a month later, Sophie was cast in the role opposite _Home and Away (1998)_ Dan Ewing and Dance Academy (2010) Tim Pocock. Shooting began whilst Sophie was still studying, and so she had to get special permission to shoot whilst also preparing for her graduation. Sophie graduated from QUT in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) with Distinction and was immediately signed by renowned agent Shanahan Management. Upon completion of shooting in early 2015, Sophie moved back to Sydney, and soon was working on critically acclaimed web series "Avalon Now" opposite Felix Williamson , whom she had worked with on Red Billabong (2016). Williamson also directed and produced the series with his company A Little Bit of Drama. Sophie has also appeared in a number of short films including Oranges Don't Grow on Trees (2016) opposite Alex Russell and Sarah Snook , and the lead role of 'Millia' in Kurzeme Fortress (2017) .Red Billabong (2016) opens in cinemas across Australia on August 25, 2016 after having it's first screening at the closing night gala of the Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival in July.
