Sophia LaVonne is an actress, dancer, and writer/director. While studying the performing arts and film at NYU--where she received a Gallatin grant for the duration of her studies to contribute to the school's performing arts program--Sophia was also street dancing in New York City's subway. She moved onto land featured roles as an actress and movement artist in live shows for Baz Luhrmann, Moscow Opera House, multiple Lincoln Centre productions, several off Broadway Theatres, and at The Apollo Theatre. You can catch her dancing in productions on Netflix, FX, E! Network, Vogue, SNL and her choreography for Nike Industrials, BETs Wild Out Wednesday, TruTV, and Marc Jacobs.As a director and creative, her work has appeared on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show, BET, the online edition of Vogue Magazine, in music videos for Ireland's Hot Press Magazine, and in multiple advertisements-- including most recently for the Adidas x Karlie Kloss campaign, which found it's home on several international billboardsSophia's presence and work is characterized by an unrelenting commitment to marry spontaneity with authenticity in pursuit of re-connecting individuals to their own raw feeling, as well as to one other.Sophia received further training in acting at Anthony Meindl and Terry Schreiber Studios, and training in dance under members of Elite Force, Fosse originals, Electric Boogaloos, and Brian Green.
