Sonya has been a working actor both in Vancouver and in Toronto where she currently lives. While in Vancouver, Sonya pursued Psychology at UBC and soon realized it wasn't her path. Sonya has been a working actor both in Vancouver and in Toronto where she currently lives. While in Vancouver, Sonya pursued Psychology at UBC and soon realized it wasn't her path. Shortly thereafter, she began studying acting at the William Davis Center For Actors' Study and Lyric School of Acting. She appeared in various commercials as well as in t.v series such as Showtime's The L Word, Hallmark's MOV The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, CBC's Intelligence, and Davinci's Inquest where she was directed by Nicholas Campbell. After some time, Sonya decided to conquer Toronto and made her move. Her most recent work includes principle roles in ABC/Global's Rookie Blue and Combat Hospital. She also appeared as Dr. Qaderi in CBC's The Border and Agent Melanie Gadupta in the USA network's Covert Affairs. Sonya is currently working on a recurring role in the t.v series The Strain on FX created by Chuck Hogan and Guillermo Del Toro. Show less «
