Somerville Black grew up in the small town of Strathroy Ontario. She is a graduate of the University of Windsor's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting (Class of 2018), as well as the MXAT intensive (2015, Russia), and a year abroad studying with the Theatre Royal University of Plymouth's Conservatoire (2016, England).
