Sofia Reis is an award winning and nominated actress born in Lisbon, Portugal. Ever since she was a child she has had a passion for acting. Her film debut came in "Sostiene Pereira", a 1994 Italian film shot in Lisbon and starring Marcello Mastroianni, with a soundtrack by the renowned composer Ennio Morricone. This experience sparked her ambition to take a career as an actress seriously. In 1997 she attended the only private school training actors in Portugal: IAE - Institute of Performing Arts, while she played small roles in film and television. Since 2000 she has participated in several workshops in the renowned Portuguese ACT School of Actors. In 2010 she graduated in Meisner Technique, at the John Frey Studio for Actors taught by the american actor and writer John Frey. In the same year Sofia was also awarded the Augusta Award for Best Actress at the 8th Bragacine - International Festival of Independent Cinema of Braga, Portugal. This was a big incentive for Sofia to give wings to her dream. In 2012 she was nominated for Best Actress in a short-film for the thriller "Faminto" at the CinEuphoria Awards 2012. In 2013 she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the feature-film "Além de Ti" at the CinEuphoria Awards 2013. In 2015 she was nominated for Best Actress for the Short-film "Anjo Negro" at the CinEuphoria Awards 2015. In July 2015 she won the Best Actress Award for the short-film "Anjo Negro", aka "Dark Angel", at The Zone International Film Festival, Houston, USA. She works in television, film and theater and since 2017 she is represented in Portugal by the Talent Agency CAST39 (Eric Santos). She speaks fluent english, french and of course portuguese and she is a member of the Portuguese Film Academy. Show less «
