Snake Blocker was born on October 19, 1971 to James and Nancy (Aparicio) Blocker. He and his family are members of the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas. From an early age, Snake Blocker embraced his cultural heritage with pride. At the age of seven, his grandfather gave him a knife, a gift which kindled a lifelong interest in survival skills. As a child, he was bullied for being smaller than his peers. From the taunts and torments of his peers rose the determination to defend himself, a resolve which has followed him throughout his life and career.After graduating from John A. Rowland High School in 1989, Snake Blocker pursued a number of avenues for higher education. In 1992, he attended Pilot's Ground School at Mount San Antonio College. In 1993, he was certified as a health and fitness instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine. In 2005, he received a Leadership certification from BIOLA University. In 2016, he received a Russian Kettlebell Certification from Dragon Door.If you ask Snake Blocker what he does for a living, he'll say that he's a "warrior poet." Playful smirk notwithstanding, he's telling the truth. Though he's written and published some well-received poetry, a poet's paycheck isn't enough to keep one in ink and paper, much less a dignified lifestyle. Therefore, he provides his services and expertise as a warrior to a variety of industries.He is President of the Apache-3 Corporation, a government contracting company. He is also founder and chief instructor of Blocker Academy of Martial Arts. Concurrently, he is a Lifetime Fitness metabolic specialist. In short, he teaches others the formidable strength and discipline that seem to come naturally to him. It only seems that way, because Snake Blocker works out and trains every day, as part of his "One Percent" philosophy - which is that each day, any person can be 1% better than what they were yesterday.Snake Blocker's screen debut was a small role in the 1995 film ''Enter the Blood Ring.'' He played the fighter Scorpion (listed in the credits as merely "Fighter") for two MMA matches, with about three short lines.Snake Blocker's first television appearance was in 2009, on the series premiere of Spike TV's ''Deadliest Warrior'', in the episode titled "Apache vs Gladiator." In it, he demonstrated the fighting styles and weapons of Apache warriors alongside friend and fellow expert, Alan Tafoya.In 2012, he appeared on National Geographic's ''Doomsday Preppers'', in the 10th episode of the second season, entitled "In the Hurt Locker." There, he explained and demonstrated the survival tactics of his ancestors, showing how his hunting and foraging skills would provide food for his family in the event of widespread famine.In 2014, he was featured in National Geographic's YouTube series, ''Selling Survival,'' a supplement to the ''Doomsday Preppers'' series. In Episode 13, he talks briefly about knife fighting and demonstrates a few simple moves with his visibly impressed interviewer, Brooklyn Bagwell.Snake Blocker married Melissa Leppert on June 1st, 2012. Together, they have three children. Sierra Ravin Blocker was born in 2014. In 2016, they gifted her with a younger sister, named Serenity Violet Blocker. The baby of the family is Hunter Asher Talon Blocker, born in 2018. Snake Blocker is very devoted to his family, placing their happiness and well-being at the top of his priorities.With what little free time he has, Snake Blocker likes to read and watch movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime. His favorite movies tend to be comedies, action films, and documentaries. Anything "based on a true story" is likely to get his attention. He also enjoys shopping online, chatting with his friends, and catching a good nap here and there.Snake Blocker is a spiritual man who studies the Bible in his quest to understand and serve God's will.
