Born in Scandinavia of Danish and Indian descent, Sita began her acting career at the age of eight on Swedish television. Her natural talent for subtle, emotive acting and engaging pathos combined with an unusual look that is at once exotic and familiar quickly gained her recognition in the Scandinavian acting scene. After taking time away from her career to complete a degree on the more technical side of film making at the European Film Institute, Sita broke into the New York theater scene. After a few years of acting in the off-Broadway curcuit there, she took time away from the stage to assume the lead in the small budgeted but critically acclaimed Near to You (2000). Following this, she continued her focus on theater and attended the prestigious Shakespeare Academy in Vermont.
