Born in East Harlem and raised in the Bronx, Sig Shore earned a basketball scholarship to George Washington University. During World War II he served as a navigator in the Army Air Corps where he became a first lieutenant. After the war he was the advertising director for Dance magazine and later started advertising agencies in San Francisco and New York. During the height of the Cold War Mr. Shore imported a number of Russian films. In addition he distributed films like Francois Truffaut's 400 Blows, Alain Resnais' Hiroshima Mon Amour and Valerio Zurlini's Black Jesus. He was married to his wife Barbara for more than 50 years and had five children (Lindsay, Steven, Michael, Richard and Suzy) along with nine grandchildren. Show less «
