Shon was born in Brooklyn, New York and spent most of her childhood in Charleston, South Carolina. She is known for her work in Blood Done Sign My Name (2010), Six Letter Word (2012), which screened at Cannes, and portraying First Lady Michelle Obama on Conan (2010). Unwilling to choose between her love of singing, acting and dancing, Shon decided to get a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theatre. However, during her four years at Washington, DC's American University, she gravitated more towards roles in contemporary comedies and classical plays.After graduating from college, Shon went right to work as a professional actress in North Carolina. There she earned contracts with the Actors Theatre of Charlotte, the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, Epic Arts Repertory Theatre and the Children's Theatre of Charlotte as well as many other regional companies.In addition to having received several award nominations for her stage roles, Shon has also developed a prolific body of work in film and video. Her first feature film role was in Blood Done Sign My Name as the operating room nurse who works on fatally-wounded Henry 'Dickie' Morrow.Now living in Los Angeles Shon's primary acting focus is film.
