A merchant navy engineer by profession, Shobhit Johri always had his eyes on the glittering city of Mumbai. His childhood was spent more in bunking classes and watching first day first shows than studying. As Shobhit says, "I always had this acting bug in me, which kept pinching me throughout." And one fine day, Shobhit decided to go all out for his passion. But, nothing comes easy in this world. For three years Shobhit unrelentingly gave auditions and ran from studios to studios. While he used to be away on ship duty, in his spare time he used to upload his short videos. In the year 2016, one such upload and a subsequent audition, gave Shobhit a chance to speak a dialogue in movie Sultan. He played a journalist and delivered his dialogue like a seasoned actor. Ali Abbas Zafar, director of Sultan was impressed with Shobhit's talent. He encouraged him and asked him to hone his talent further. For next two years, Shobhit attended many acting workshops and learnt various acting skills. His labor for his passion paid off and in 2018, Shobhit was called for audition of role of first Officer in movie Bharat. As luck would have it, it was a ship sequence and Shobhit nailed the audition with elan. Shobhit's performance as first officer on ship was noticed and praised. His dialogue "SAMJHE SAMJHE" became an instant hit with the audience. The movie became a blockbuster of 2019. And now in Shobhit's own words, "It seems my boat has at last started sailing, I know I will be able to cross all rough waters."
