His partner ran the company until Mr. Ishikawa resigned from BCG in 1999 and joined Digimation as President. After merging with GONZO in 2000 to create GONZO DIGIMATION HOLDING K.K. (GDH), Mr. Ishikawa became president and CEO of GDH in May 2001. GDH K.K. changed its name to GONZO K.K. in 2008, and Mr. Ishikawa is Founder, Representative Director, and Executive Producer since then. GONZO produces animation, game and live action in multiple platforms, including feature films, TV, games, and mobile/internet media.Mr. Ishikawa received a Masters of Science degree in physics (Astrophysics and Cosmology) from the School of Science at the University of Tokyo in March 1991. In 1995 he attended the MBA program at INSEAD (the European Institute of Business Administration), graduating on the Dean's List and also winning The Lister Vickery Memorial Award in Entrepreneurship.Mr. Ishikawa is member of several governmental and industry organizations including The Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren past), VIPO (Visual Industry Promotion Organization - past), theContents Global Strategy Committee at METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry - past), IAP (International Advisor Panel) member for Malaysian government (2007-08), and is a frequent speaker at various industry summits and TV news/programs. Mr. Ishikawa also lectures 'Venture Strategy' MBA course at GLOBIS University in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
