Shemeka Wright is a film and television actress, based in LA. Owner of Wright Positive, d/b/a Be You Candles. Shemeka was born in New Haven, CT and attended elementary school up until middle school when her family moved to Hamden, CT. Shemeka has an Associates Degree from Gateway Community College and a Bachelors Degree from Southern New Hampshire State University. Her acting career began in 2003 where she received a Diploma from the New York Film Academy. Starting as a background actor, she volunteered on short films and student projects to learn the trade as well as participating in film festivals, training classes and workshops. Throughout the years, Shemeka has been in numerous Commercials, Industrials, Films (Feature and Short), Television and Print projects. In 2017, Shemeka began script writing and by 2018 had written, produced and directed her first short film, 'More Than One' (2019) which is available on Amazon Prime and was a nominated feature at the California Women's Film Festival in 2019. Known for her roles as Dr. Rivera in 'Bittersweet' (2018), Detective Tanner in 'The Chrysalis' (2018), Millie Horn on ID Channel's - 'Shattered' (2017), Keisha Anderson in 'The Rhythm in Blue' (2016) and Shelley Williams in 'The Talk' (2014).
