Shebly Niavarani was born in Teheran, Iran. Moved with his family to Sweden during the Iran-Irak war. He grew up in different cities in Sweden and had a early passion for movies and theatre.At age 20 he was accepted to Academy of Dramatical Arts in Stockholm and studied acting there for 4 years. After graduation he soon found work in Stockholm City Theatre where he has starred in more than 30 different productions, including The Junglebook, Invasion, War and Peace, Hamlet and Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?He also worked at Folkteatern in Gothenburg where the Swedish director and writer Lars Norén was the artistic leader and also at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm.Alongside his work in the theatre he also acted in many Swedish films and TV series and directs both theatre and short-films.He's the older brother of actress Shima Niavarani and cousin of Austrian actor/comedian Michael Niavarani.
