Sharlene Rochard was born in London, Ontario Canada to Sharon Jamieson a singer her father Lennox Rochard an electrician. Her mother is white (she was adopted and does not know her ancestry) and her father is black and Portuguese from Trinidad. Sharlene has said she is "mixed" because she does not know her exact ancestry.At the age of four she started performing in plays such as Twas The Night Before Christmas and by age 6 she starred in Alice in Wonderland. At the age of 13 she won the Miss Pre Teen Modeling Contest in Canada. This launched her very successful modeling career and was introduced to acting on the big screen. Sharlene studied acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and at The Beverly Hills Playhouse in Los Angeles.Sharlene enrolled as an English and Art Major at the University of Western Ontario for two years after high school however her career as a model started to get more demanding and she chose to pursue acting.
