Shahira is an Egyptian actress, spotted by Hong Sang Soo, and featured in his film "Claire's Camera" Starring Isabelle Huppert. The film, premiered in Cannes 70th Film Festival 2017, and released in 2018, marks Fahmy's acting debut. She followed with her second role in "Yomeddine" film by A.B. Shawky, a Palm D'Or nominee in Cannes Film Festival 2018, and Egypt's submission to the 91st Academy Awards 2019 race, for the Best Foreign Language Film Category. Over the past year, she acted in numerous successful series in the Middle East and the "Sheikh Jackson" film by Amr Salama, premiered at Toronto Film Festival 2017. Shahira Fahmy who is born and raised in Cairo, received an intensive acting training at the Wooster Group Theatre in New York, and the American Repertory Theatre at Harvard University 2014-2016. Where she is a three-time recipient of Harvard's post-doc Fellowships for her ground breaking and award winning architectural work: from the Graduate School of Design GSD; the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences FAS; and Harvard's Law School 2016. Shahira has built projects in the Middle East, London and Europe, and has been hailed by Phaidon as one of the "Architects building the Arab Future" 2011. She has served as a visiting professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, in New York. Shahira speaks Arabic, French, and English fluently and she splits her time between New York, Paris, and Cairo. Show less «
