With a passion for storytelling, Scott has always strived to be in the arts. He began his career as a young actor at Scottsdale's Actors Lab while he attended Scottsdale Community College and ASU.He was on the US Freestyle Ski Team before turning to the family business and following in his father's footsteps. Later, work brought him to Las Vegas where he became business consultant for Caesars Palace and the Forum shops for Melvin Simon. Afterwards, he wrote the stage play for EFX at the MGM Grand. In 1998 Scott established his own production company calling it Stone Village Productions.Recently Scott served as Executive Producer on the Netflix Docu-Series Firechasers with producing partners Appian Way, Leonardo DiCaprio's company, along with Original Productions. He is well-known in the industry for acquiring and adapting literary properties, and delivering commercially successful and award-winning television series and films. Projects produced include the western Jane Got a Gun (2015), starring Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton and Ewan McGregor. He executive produced John Favreau's Chef (2014), starring Jon Favreau, Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr., and Dustin Hoffman.Past projects include critical and commercial success The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), with Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, and Sidney Kimmel, based on the bestselling Michael Connelly novel starring Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei, William H. Macy and Ryan Phillippe which was released by Lionsgate. Steindorff was an executive producer of the hit NBC series Las Vegas (2003-2008), starring Josh Duhamel and James Caan.Scott teamed with Paul Newman and producer Marc Platt in 2003, producing the critically acclaimed and award-winning miniseries for HBO, Empire Falls, winning a Golden Globe for Best Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television and receiving 10 Emmy nominations. Other feature films Steindorff has produced include Gimme Shelter (2014), Penelope, released by Summit in 2008; Love In The Time Of Cholera, released by New Line in 2007; Turistas, released by Twentieth Century Fox in 2006; and The Human Stain, released by Miramax in 2003.Currently, Scott creates content for his media channel for non-fiction, short form programming called Higher Frequency. The channel is dedicated to spreading educational and socially relevant media. He is also developing an emotional education and recovery program called Life Renewal. Fueled by his fascination with neurosciences, the assembly of life, and the beginning of time, he's begun developing a live show that will include a technologically immersive and educational experience surrounding the beginning of time and evolution of the world. He regularly speaks with high schools and colleges across the country on the importance of emotions and feelings. He also actively works with young people in schools, sharing his story and importance of facing substance abuse.Projects in development include Behind Closed Doors, the bestseller by B.A. Paris with Robert Schwentke attached to direct. 2014 sci-fi bestseller Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel is in pre-production with Paramount with a series order at HBO Max through WarnerMedia. Hiro Murai is attached to direct and Patrick Somerville to write. Also developing a two TV series with AGC Studios including one about Caribbean that will be shot in the Dominican Republic and a Frankenstein TV series. Recently obtained the rights to the book Last Day by Andrew Murray and is in development with Paramount.He is a Professor of Practice in the School of Art and the School of Film, Dance and Theatre at Arizona State University.
