Saskia was born in Santa Monica, California on February 10, 1999. She attended the progressive school, Play Mountain Place' for 3 of her preschool years until 2003, when she moved with her family to Brussels, Belgium, where she began performing in commercials. Her father is actor, John Flanders and her mother, Anne, was born in Brussels. Saskia's brother, Forrest, who began his career doing print ads in Los Angeles, was initially chosen for the part of Jean-Clade Van Damme's son, but the film's lawyers had to change the role to a girl for legal reasons. Saskia landed the role and in her feature film debut, played in the same scene with her father, Johm, who plays the L.S. lawyer defending Saskia's mother for her daughter's custody. Saskia now attends an all-French speaking school in Brussels, rides horses and loves to sing songs by her favorite group and singers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne, Amy McDonald and Norah Jones.
