Tkotsch attended secondary school in Berlin. She had her first role in 2003, in Wolfgang Becker's "Good Bye, Lenin!" where she played a choir member. Since then, she has been involved in various cinema and television productions, e.g. the German film series "Tatort". Until 2010, Tkotsch appeared in nine episodes of the successful television production. In August 2007, she was cast as Lucy Cöster, one of the main characters in the RTL soap opera "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten (GZSZ)".After her time on the series, Tkotsch and co-author Wilma Bögel wrote a manual for adolescent girls, "Ich bin dagegen - und das aus Prinzip!" which was published in 2011. From January 2014 to December 2015 Sarah was a regular member of cast as a nurse on the German medical drama series In aller Freundschaft.Tkotsch is also a successful voice actress, having started with a main role with the children's film "Sunshine Barry und die Discowürmer" in 2008. After several appearances in movies and series, Tkotsch landed leading roles in 2012 and 2013 in "Dog with a Blog", "Marla spricht!", "Tilly und ihre Freunde", "Die Abenteuer des jungen Marco Polo" and the film "Family Weekend". She had a minor role in the film "Labor Day" and lended her voice to Priscilla in the cartoon classic "Calimero".
