Sandy Kay grew up running barefoot through the foothills of Kentucky. She moved to New York to pursue a modeling career, and had success when signing with Ford. While working as a model, Sandy began to study acting. Her many credits include: the world premiere of "Currents Turned Awry", by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, D. L. Coburn and "Hello Bob", by Broadway playwright, Robert Patrick. An enjoyable film role was beating Arnold Schwarzenegger in the head with a purse in Jingle All the Way (1996).Sandra debuted as a director in New York City, at the Nat Horn Theatre. She has directed and produced over 300 live performances in NYC, LA, and MPLS including: Alan Ball's," Five Woman Wearing the Same Dress." For film, she directed a romantic criminal comedy, "Organized Crime".Sandra founded an acting studio in Minneapolis called, The Performance Studio. Wide Variety Theatre (WVT) is an important part of The Performance Studio. Sandra founded the theatre in MPLS. She has cast, directed and produced 62 live productions of WVT. While teaching in Minnesota, she co-created and executive produced an original sketch comedy called "Irelene Television Theater" now called "ITT 3-D TV NETWORK." This unique idea sparked a call from Carsey-Werner which started the ball rolling toward creating original television concepts. And Sandy headed West.Along with her individual television writing, Sandy is also a part of a writing team called H.B. Creations. This production company was form when Bette Midler was interested in their sit-com, "SIDEKICKS." Currently H. B. Creations has three sit-coms, a one hour fantasy adventure, four reality concepts, and a scripted mock 3-D sketch comedy, ITT 3-D TV NETWORK, in treatment form. Sandy has pitched many rooms with lots of doors open including NBC, CBS, HBO, FOX, TBS, Sony, Warner Bros., Comedy Central, Bruckheimer Films, Imagine Entertainment and DreamWorks.
