Bilingual Haitian actor/model Sam Zephir was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Boston, MA. He speaks both Haitian Creole and English. His father is a minister and his mother is a registered nurse. At the tender young age of 11, Sam was cast as the lead role of Mark, in an adaptation of Aesop's Fables, a play that was performed for several consecutive nights at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology community theatre. This is where Sam not only fell in love with drama, but discovered he had a penchant for it. Sam would go on and perform as the lead in several original plays at his father's church, entertaining the crowd each time. Being the son of Haitian immigrants and living in Boston made it somewhat difficult to truly pursue acting much further, and Sam went on to graduate Randolph High School and earn a bachelor's degree at Boston University in Sociology and minor in Philosophy and Spanish in 2005. He would work in the financial industry for a decade before his passion and love for acting would be rekindled. In 2016 Boston continued to make strides as a market for the arts, and Sam took a voiceover 101 class taught by Boston radio legend Candy O'Terry. It was there that Sam would meet his acting coach Lau Lapides, and the rest is history. Sam would perform at several NY and NE showcases in front of northeast casting directors and agents. He would sign with Cameo Models and Talent in 2017 and immediately begin booking modeling shoots and local commercial spots. Sam earned First Runner Up Male Actor of the Year at IMTA LA 2018, taking first place in the Monologues competition, Improvisation competition, and TV Show host. He would place in the top 5 in almost all of the categories for his division. Later that year at IMTA NYC 2018 Sam would secure 3rd Runner Up Male Actor of the Year, and take home 1st place in the Cold Read, Improv, TV Real People, and Voiceover (first time VO was a category at IMTA) competitions. Sam lives in the Northeast with his family and continues to build his resume in that region. Show less «
