Sam Froelich is president and co-founder of DownHome Entertainment, a North Carolina-based film and television production company, and owner of Carolina Props, the largest props/set dressing rental house on the East coast. With producing partner Lauren Moews of Tonic Films, Froelich produced the films Cabin Fever (2002) and Briar Patch (2003) (aka Plain Dirty).He was executive producer of David Gordon Green's directorial debut George Washington (2000). He has also produced the award-winning documentary The Rough South of Larry Brown (2002), the indy drama Morning (2001), and the USA Network telepic Above Suspicion (2000).Most recently, Froelich was co-executive producer of Hounddog (2007), co-producer of Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever (2009), and executive producer of the indy thriller Wreckage (2010). He is currently working on a feature adaptation of the best-selling memoir Final Rounds by Jim Dodson with producer David V. Picker.He graduated from The University of Southern California School of Cinema/Television in 1993 with an MFA in Screenwriting and spent several years in television production at Walt Disney (Ellen) and DreamWorks.
