Sam Ashe Arnold is a young Canadian actor who has built an impressive resume in just two years - including The Adventure Club (2017), High-Rise Rescue (2017), Odd Squad: The Movie (2016), Mommy's Little Girl (2016), and Winter Hymns (2015). Following a year of classes at The Ottawa Children's Theatre, Sam joined AMTI, a talent agency based in Toronto and Ottawa. He booked two national commercials and made the quick jump to film when a local production company, Gray Chance Films, tagged him for their horror short, A Tale of the Bonesetter (2015). Soon after, Toronto-based Inflo Films cast him in a pair of successful shorts, Winter Hymns (2015) and The Big Crunch (2016).Sam plays the lead role of Joshua in Winter Hymns (2015), for which he is also an executive producer. The film received significant critical acclaim, winning major awards at the Slamdance Film Festival, the Reykjavik Film Festival, and the North Carolina Film Festival. It also swept its category at the Canadian Film Festival, winning all three short film awards, including Best Cast. Sam also won a 2016 Joey Award for his work in this film.A string of lead and supporting roles in film and television projects followed. Sam plays Ricky, the lead role the family feature, The Adventure Club (2017), which features Billy Zane and Kim Coates. That film sold out the world rights in just two days at the 2016 American Film Market. And he plays Charlie Davis in the gripping family-action drama, High-Rise Rescue (2017), with Catherine Bell, Greg Bryk, and Adrian Holmes.Sam is a strong supporter of Canadian independent film and seeks opportunities to work with emerging filmmakers. In the summer of 2016, he worked on three shorts: Meryam Joobeur's Born in the Maelstrom (2017) (with Sasha Lane), Bastien Alexander's How Tommy Lemenchick Became a Grade 7 Legend (2016), and Joy Webster's Game (2017).On the international front, Sam supports Plan Canada initiatives and causes devoted to stopping elephant poaching, illegal wildlife trading, and international ivory trading.
