Roy Lewis Garton got his start in acting while growing up in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Here in the heart of Grand Teton National Park he was cast as an extra in the TV series "The Monroes" with Clay Anderson and Barbra Hershey. From there followed a appearance on the television series "Then Came Bronson" with Michael Parks. One of the most popular television programs to be shot in Roy's hometown was the pilot for the CBS television series, "The Waltons" titled "The Homecoming." Roy was cast as a poor teen on a cold and snowy night competing with the Walton children answering bible trivia questions for gifts. Roy went on to appear in other area feature films including "Any Which Way You Can", "Pursuit of DB Cooper", "The Mountain Men", "Dream West", and "Rocky 4". All which were filmed in part in Jackson Hole or in Grand Teton National Park.Mr. Garton took a break from films and pursued his career in broadcasting working as a news journalist. He was employed with various radio and television stations throughout the Western States including one in his hometown in Jackson. As a television news journalist in a very popular resort area, Roy has had the opportunity to cover Statesmen, Presidents, and Russian Diplomats as they passed through the area on political missions. He has also worked with the White House Press Corps. Mr. Garton was one of the first to provide video footage on the outbreak of the Yellowstone fires that devastated the park in the 1980's.Roy left Wyoming in 1992 and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma again working in television before settling down in Florida where he now resides. Besides his other business interests, Roy continues to act in films and television. He is also involved with working on independent films as a writer, director, and producer.
