Roxana Condurache was born on August 28th, 1987, in Iasi, Romania. In 2002 she won the Miss Freshmen of Emil Racovita High School. This is how she was discovered by a modeling agency and started to work as a model. During high school, she was very successful in school plays. At the age of 18, she moved to the capital of Romania, Bucuresti, to study acting. In the first year of study, she worked for two plays: The Actors and a collaboration with The Mask Theatre and Pulse, directed by Javier Opazo.After this experience , Roxana Condurache accepted a small role in a comedy: the musical The Gurtons Needle, at the Mask Theatre. She had to prepare for 3 months for this show, taking singing and dancing classes with Razvan Diaconu (composer) and Ioana Macarie (choreography).In 2009 she played the role of a witness of the tragedy of Hiroshima. The play was called Cries for Peace, and was directed by Liana Cetechi. It was held at the Theatre for The Few, in Bucuresti. During this year, she also had a role in the play called The Fear and Misery of the Third Reich written by Bertold Brecht, and directed by Razvan Marinescu. The play won the best directing price in the festival called Theatre for The Young Festival held in Piatra Neamt, Romania. The same year, she was cast by Andrei Elvadeanu, a young director, for the leading role of his short film Extra Charged.2009 was a very important one for Roxana Condurache. That is when she was discovered by Larysa Kondracki and offered a very important role in the movie The Whisleblower, starring great names such as Rachel Weisz, Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn, Monica Bellucci and Nikolaj Lie Kaas.In 2010 she was cast for the leading role of another short-film, called For Mona, directed by Alexandra Baila, and had a small role in a short-film called Closed Thread by Mihail Radinoius. The same year, she received the opportunity to star in a video directed by Christian Loubeck. The video was made for the song Unbelievable, of a New York band called The Sleepy Rebels. She also received the role of Titania, in a Shakespearian play A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Cristian Toma. The group of young actors traveled a lot in Romania to promote the play.2012 is the year in which Roxana started a Masters in Writing and Directing. The same year, Roxana started working for the thriller Night of the Spirits, directed by Olimpia Stavarache, where she plays the leading role of Elisabeta.In 2012 Roxana also garnered a Genie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 32nd Genie Awards, for her performance in the Canadian film The Whistleblower and she attended the Genie Awards, held at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, on the 8th of March.In February 2012 she attended the Talent Campus of The Berlin Film Festival, alongside 200 other actors and film makers.In 2013 she started working on Otilia leaves the towel fall, written and directed by Roxana Condurache, in which she plays the leading role of Otilia.In 2014, Roxana Condurache is preparing for the leading role of Lauren Bacall, in Bogie & Bacall.
