Robert Steinman was born in New York City, son of Danny Steinmann and Paula Klein. He didn't discover acting and writing until college, where at, the University of Pennsylvania he received his B.A. in English Literature and Film Studies. His first play, "Night Café," received a Judy Lee Award nod for dramatic writing while Mr. Steinman was a student. He studied filmmaking at Tisch School of the Arts (at NYU) where he wrote, directed, and starred in several student films. He later went on to graduate from the Actor's Studio New School for Social Research's M.F.A. program in writing and acting. There, he developed his stage work, culminating with his thesis performance as Eddie in David Rabe's "Hurly Burly", performed in New York's Circle in the Square as well as Stephen Tescher's original piece "First Date." While still in school, Steinman began his professional career appearing in "Sex and the City" and "The Visitors."Mr.Steinman's latest television pilot, "Sensitive Men," has been recently completed which he wrote and starred in as well as an upcoming feature film shooting beginning of 2015.
