Born in Mexico City. Helmer of several school shortfilms, standing out "Necrofilia" and "Sin Sentido", making a world wide recognition at film festivals.His dream has been always to make Horror films, one of his favorite genres, as Science Fiction and Fantasy. He writes his first feature based on a widely known Mexican legend, "La Llorona". Immediately optioned by Mexican mini studio Lemon Films, he directed the horror film based on this script " Kilometre 31 " - Km 31 - in 2007; the result, the highest grossing film of 2007 in Mexico, number one Mexican horror film of all time in the box-office and 5th highest grossing film in the country's history. His first film also swept the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Mexico awards, taking a total of 5 statuettes.The success of this film, creates the opportunity to work with the American Morabito Picture Company and the British Capitol Films to direct the Hitchcockian psychological thriller "Blackout", released in 2008. The stunning images led to achieve this production a new success which premiered in Mexico, Uk and other European countries.In 2010, he debuts as a producer, carrying the bestselling book of Mexican writer Juan Jose Rodríguez entitled "Murder in a Chinese Laundry", the film was released in 2012 and finally titled "Reincarnation", directed by Eduardo Rossoff.For several years, he also directs many interesting tv series, winning experience in different genres he hasn't touched before as a director. He directs, writes and produce the series "M13DOS" for Televisa. He also directed for Televisa "Terminales", a successful drama series which had a remake in the United States. Rigoberto directs the action/drama series for Channel 11 "Paramedics". For Disney directs the dramatic series portraying the real life of a famous Mexican singer Juan Gabriel in "Hasta que te Conocí".Seven years after the resounding success of "KM31" he writes and directs the sequel, "Km31-2", to be released this 2016 with the ambition to break the records set by the previous one.Rigoberto is developing (2016) "Unsourced" for Traziende films and "Lazarus" for Universal Pictures.
