Richard Hartunian was slated to be the next James Dean in Hollywood. He starred in Hot Rod Rumble (1957), where he put his mark. Cousin of Wayne Hartunian, who worked at MGM studios for 7 years as did his father-in-law, Charles "Hovey" Hovland, who worked for MGM studios for 40 years, helped pioneer it with his wives family (the Gray's) in the late 1930s. Rich entertainment blood ran through the family tree. Richard's wife is actress Virginia Aldridge, who played "Lieutenant Karen Tracy" in Star Trek: Wolf in the Fold (1967), a second season episode of Star Trek (1966): The Original Series. Hartunian is the third cousin of actress Michele Cummins (aka Michele Hartunian-Cummins), who resides in Vancouver, B.C. Family is Armenian & Richard's parents migrated to Fresno, California around 1913-1915 from the Armenian Genocide.
