Rey Herrera was born in El Paso, Texas to a family of restaurateurs. He landed his first commercial when he was eight years old. At eighteen, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to honor his grandfather's service. When his tour ended, Rey enrolled in film school at the University of North Texas where he minored in Drama.
