Rex Hagon was born in 1947, to William and Corinne Hagon of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as the second of three children. His older brother Garrick Hagon is a prolific actor, on stage, screen and in audio form, while his younger sister June has spent her life working tirelessly in the field of medicine.Rex started his career young, having appeared in small-scale productions since the age of 5. His first big break occurred when he landed the role of "The Kid" in Canada's "Jake and the Kid." Following the series' conclusion, Rex appeared in the series "The Forest Rangers" as Peter Keeley. The rough-and-tumble nature of the production, which required him to draw on his skills as an outdoors-person (and forced him to learn how to ride a horse,) helped spur a life-long interest in nature, a love he has passed on to his two eldest sons and will has continued to foster in his younger children.Mr. Hagon ended his tenure on "The Forest Rangers" in order to complete his high school education at the elite private school Upper Canada College. Following his graduation from UCC, Rex enrolled at the University of Toronto and completed his Bachelor of Arts before returning to acting on a professional level. His next "cult" role was on TVOntario's "Polka Dot Door," a well-loved children's show. The original tapings became a staple among children from 1971 up until the late 1980s, with many younger people who still remember the 'hallucinogenic' giraffe "Polkaroo."Following the end of the his run on the Polka Dot Door, Mr. Hagon focused on commercials, stage productions and dabbled in directing before moving into communications consulting. During this period he married his first wife, Gail, and the two of them have raised two sons, Michael (b. 1980) and Robert (b. 1983).He is the father of two more beautiful children, David (b. 1997) and Julia (b. 1999) with his wonderful wife Daphne. He is adored by all of his children, and continues to be successful both as a family man and as a professional. He now divides his time between Toronto and the family's second home on the shores of Lake Huron where he, Daphne, and all 4 of his children spend as much time as they can.
