David Brandt, an alumnus of Clark University, sought his musical fortune in Los Angeles, forming Reeves Nevo & the Cinch. They were featured as the Prom Band at the end of Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982, Universal), playing their arrangements of "Life in the Fast Lane" and "Wooly Bully". The group achieved a decent local following in the early 80s, and members eventually went on to other known bands. After releasing an album under his real name, Brandt passed up a production deal with Westlake Audio, turned down an offer to perform with the New Christy Minstrels, broke up the band and returned to his East Coast roots. He's now a psychoanalyst and is married, with children, and living happily in New Jersey where he continues to be musically active.
