The youngest of seven children, Reen Vogel (nee Maureen Lazar) was raised in a small town in Wisconsin. As an adult, Reen has lived in 8 different states from MA to CA, and is now a SAG/AFTRA, award nominated, actor and voice actor based in the Southeast.In 2016, she received a Best Actress nomination for her work as Detective Sharon Carson, in the 48 Hr Film Project Competition short film, "Missed Call", by Strong Will Entertainment. "Missed Call" received 11 award nominations and received 2 awards.Also in 2016, Reen played opposite Haley Lu Richardson ("Split", "Edge of Seventeen") in the independent feature film, "Columbus", starring Haley Lu, John Cho ("Star Trek"), and Parker Posey ("The Good Wife", "Boston Legal"), directed by Kogonada. "Columbus" garnered rave reviews at the January 2017 Sundance Film Festival.In addition to on camera work, Reen loves being a voice actor. She has been the voice for the Chiari and Syringomyelia Foundation's "Key's for a Cure" campaign, and for Mars Pet Care. She has also provided voices for several films, and various commercials.In 2015, she played supporting role (Teresa) opposite Bethany Sharp (Detective Carla Owens) in the faith based feature film, "Where Is Good?"She is also in "The Dust Storm" (2015) starring Colin O'Donoghue ("Once Upon A Time"), Kristin Gutoskie ("Vampire Diaries", "Containment"), Chris Carmack ("Nashville"), and Jim O'Heir ("Parks and Rec") directed by Anthony Baldino and Ryan Lacen.Previous to becoming an actor and voice actor, Reen co-founded and was the Managing/Artistic Director for Contra Costa Christian Theatre in San Francisco's East Bay.
