Rebecca Merasty is an actress, model, poet and hobby photographer from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan and she is a member of the Flying Dust First Nation community. She has played volleyball competitively throughout high school, college, university and has participated on several provincial teams competing throughout North America. This experience landed her a role in "The Miracle Season" (2018) as the libero for the movie's featured team, West High. Once filming for The Miracle Season was complete, Merasty landed a lead role in a commercial for Travel Alberta's re-branding campaign titled "Ready" (2017). Merasty has done various modeling gigs such as: campaign model for the Otahpiaaki Indigenous Beauty, Fashion and Design Week in Calgary, Alberta and the Make Fashion 5.0 fashion show also in Calgary, Alberta.Merasty has done various photo shoots for Indigenous designers such as Indicity, Section 35 and Native American Apparel. Her film experience and love for fashion also inspired her to work in film as part of the costume department. Merasty has also been on the other side of the camera photographing fashion shoots and weddings.Last but not least, Merasty started writing poetry at a young age and became a two time, published poet at the age of 16. She continues to write poetry and what she likes to call, "writings."
