Born in the Northeast Ohio area, Randolph Thompson grew up as the oldest of four brothers. After high school, he moved to New York to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where he would meet many of his future collaborators. Randolph remained in New York for ten years before relocating to Los Angeles, where he now resides.
