Preston's first few years were spent in Los Angeles and Houston, and his family later moved to Dallas and the town of his current residence, Savannah, Georgia. Preston began acting in the Clinton County (Illinois) Showcase Theatre's production of Charlotte's Web at the age of 11, when he portrayed "Uncle", and has rediscovered his passion for performing arts after moving to Savannah.
