Phillip K. Galaras was born in Urbana, Illinois. He and his two older sisters were raised in a small town in central Illinois called Savoy. Phillip attended school in the nearby town of Champaign where he participated in soccer, football, baseball, and wrestling. He did not have any contact with the drama club until he auditioned and landed a role in his high school production of "Hello Dolly." He fell in love with acting, but he was determined to play college football. His athleticism was good enough to get him a scholarship to a division three football program. Sadly, he suffered a career ending injury just three games into the season. Lost and confused about what he wanted for his future, Phillip bounced from job to job and college to college. Phillip's awakening came when he began taking acting classes at the local community college. His love for acting was reawakened. Following his class he began landing roles in local short films and also began working in the art department on movie sets.
