Philippa Urquhart was born in Abadaan, Persia (now Iran,) in the 1940s. After a distinguished career in classical theatre during the 1960s and 70s, during which time she toured the world with Britain's prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company and premiered a number of roles for playwright Alan Ayckbourn, Philippa became widely known for her television work during the 1980s. These included regular and guest roles in such popular British series as Tenko (1981), _"Very Peculiar Practise, A" (1986)_ and _"Eastenders" (1985)_. Semi-retired for a while after the birth of her children, Rosie and Jack Jewers, Philippa returned to more high-profile screen work during the 1990s. Her later career has been marked by something of a late blossoming in film roles. Show less «
