Phil is a film/video producer/editor, filmmaker, and educator. His work spans genres, from realist dramas to science fiction, horror, documentary, and experimental. He is a partner in Arbor Avenue Films and Route 7 Films, with whom he produced the independent feature film, THE STREET WHERE WE LIVE, and the award-winning shorts, ERODED and MEASURED SACRIFICE. Phil produced the first feature film from the Kenyon College Film Program, GOTTA GET DOWN TO IT, with writer/director Jonathan Tazewell. Phil has also partnered with director/writer/producer, Gary Jones on a number of films including the SyFy premiere feature, AXE GIANT and the upcoming ESCAPE FROM DEATH BLOCK 13. He directed and produced the narrative/educational film, THE OTHER MEN IN BLACK, one of the last films starring veteran stage, screen, and television actor, Fyvush Finkel. In addition to producing features and short films, he creates short documentaries and lyrical experimental films and video art. His collaborations with Icelandic composer and musician, Jósep Gíslason, have played internationally in festivals and venues in Iceland, Ireland, Portugal, Germany, Greece, and across the US. He was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2016 for his short documentary, "Dennison W. Griffith: Another World," which premiered on WOSU/PBS.
