Despite his [Irish] Celtic and Northern heritage, Phil is originally from Taunton, in sleepy Somerset. After a semester as a Law & Spanish student at The University of Sheffield, he made his way to London to follow his true childhood dream & train in Acting at the Italia Conti Academy, graduating with a BA [Hons] in 2011. That same year, he got to the national final of The Carleton Hobbs Radio Drama competition at The BBC.Whilst training, his roles included Macbeth in 'Macbeth', Freder in 'Pains of Youth', Larry in 'Closer' and John Proctor in 'The Crucible' as his graduating piece. Professionally, he tackled Arthur Miller again in 2014, playing Chris Keller in 'All My Sons' at the Stroud Theatre. Through Little John in 'Robin Hood' and Marius The Gladiator in a role-play for 'RYSE: Son of Rome' for Xbox, Phil has picked up the lead in three short films - 'Sin', 'Beneath God' and 'All Bets Are Off' by Zoya Films.In February 2020, Phil auditioned for the Warner Bros. picture 'The Batman' directed by Matt Reeves, and managed to bag the part of Bodyguard.Further theatre credits include the lead Leon/Nick in 'Speaking in Tongues' by Andrew Bovell, which played at The Cockpit Theatre then transferred to The Pleasance Courtyard at The Edinburgh Fringe 2017, with 4-star reviews. He also played the chief gangsta' Edward Milligan, in Uncorked Theatre's sell-out, 5-star immersive show, 'One Nine Two Seven' as well as the lead-role of Carl in their smash-hit sequel, 'How To Solve a Problem Like Murder'.His commercial work includes Paperchase, Captain Morgan's & SportPesa as the rugby player in their #MakeItCount advert in 2018. Phil was also picked as platoon Commander Albert Booth in The National Theatre's '#WeAreHere' project in 2016.Additionally, Phil is a confident and skilled comedic improviser and has worked for Battersea Arts Centre in this capacity. Further to this, Phil has worked as a comedy Actor Host & compère for Marella Cruises, and was promoted to Assistant Cruise Director in record time. He has since worked as an Entertainment Consultant as well as completing two contracts as the Cruise Director of the 2000 passenger ship, Discovery 2, in charge of a team of 55 actors, singers & dancers. Over Christmas and New Year's 2019, he was chosen to take this peak 5-week contract and navigated the team to the highest score within the fleet.Phil is also a talented sportsman - he was a South-West England Rugby trialist and a county-standard cricketer. He is also proficient in hockey, tennis, table-tennis, football and is an experienced skier. Aside from his love of sports, Phil is conversational in Spanish, a keen creative writer and a regular sports blogger & pundit for Riverside Sports Radio, in Wandsworth. He also does a weekly football podcast, The Fantasy Footy Podcast and in August 2020, he launched his own film podcast - Back To Blockbuster. His favourite film is 'Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves', he has a Golden Retriever called Loxley, & his favourite actor is Jack Nicholson, or 80s Tom Cruise. Show less «
