Paul Gerard Kennedy was born in Darlinghurst, New South Wales, Australia to Thomas Arthur Kennedy and Bette Patricia Kennedy. He has one older brother, John Kennedy and one older sister, Robyn Kennedy, as well as two younger sisters, Gemma Summers and Kate McKnight.He grew up in Ashfield and Strathfield, New South Wales; and went to high school, firstly at Chevalier College, Bowral, and later Saint Patrick's College, Strathfield.From an early age, Paul was addicted to television and movies. While at Chevalier College, he co-produced, wrote, directed and acted in the movie Shell, the story of a young man's empty life.After leaving school, he commenced a course in TV Operational Techniques.His love of television and movies was never too far from him. In 1982 he commenced editing and writing Time Loop, an amateur monthly publication devoted to the British science fiction television program Doctor Who.He continued this publication and others till 1989. During this time, he was awarded the Double Gamma Award, for Best Fanzine (Time Loop) and Best Editor at WhoDo 84, the Double Gamma Award for Best Writer at LonCon '85 and the Double Gamma Award for Best Fanzine (Time Loop) and Special Achievements at Console 88.In 1990, he appeared as an extra in several episodes of Summer Bay (1988), Australia's Most Wanted (1989), Elly & Jools (1990), The Paper Man (1990), G.P. (1989), as well as appearing in a Commonwealth Bank Commercial and a staff training video for Westmead Hospital.Paul did not reactivate his creative side again until 2012, when he wrote, produced, directed and starred in Col Briscoe Adventurer, Chapter 9 the Giant Lizards of Connine Island (2012), as an entry in a short film competition for Con 9 from Outer Space, where it won 2nd place.He also wrote "The Further Adventures of Scott Carey (The Incredible Shrinking Man)" in the short story competition for Con 9 from Outer Space, where it won 1st place. Paul was married to Tina Maria Kennedy (Favale) from 1977 to 2000 and had three children, Leila Kennedy, Sara Parkhouse, and Dejah Thoris. Paul has been married to Denise Behringer since 2010.
