Patti Muma-Cook had dreamed of being on stage or in movies when she was growing up but she never had the nerve to pursue that path then. Instead she went the 'safe' route. She finished school and started a family at the age of 18. 5 children later, and various monotonous jobs like waitressing and factory work, she wanted and needed something more. She loves her family very much and they supported her as she finally stepped out of her comfort zone at age 34 when her childhood friend asked her to be on the show Look-a-like with her. She was enthralled from then on and found other opportunities to be in front of a camera. After attending a play at Stratford, where she was born and raised and still lives, she felt drawn to be on the stage with the actors. So at the age of 37 she applied, auditioned, and was accepted into Fanshawe's Theatre Arts program. The next two years were amazing years of self-discovery. With amazing teachers and guests she found the confidence that was always lacking and it propelled her forward. During her second year she played the Nurse in 'Cupid's Exchange' an exploration of Romeo & Juliet and, the role that proved to her that she could make it, Nora in George F Walker's 'Escape From Happiness'. At 39 years of age she completed the program and before the summer began she had signed on to Fulcher Agency in Toronto. Her dream, and goal, is to be on stage in her hometown of Stratford at the Shakespeare Festival. Show less «
