Pat Mills started as an actor on the Nickelodeon series 'You Can't Do That on Television' and received training at Ryerson University where Pat was the recipient of the Norman Jewison Filmmaker Award and City TV Best Film Award. Pat's first feature, the dark comedy 'Guidance', had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was hailed as a "Grade A" comedy by the Los Angeles Times and was a New York Times Critics' Pick. Pat's performance as "David" was nominated for an Actra Award for Outstanding Performance.Pat's second feature, the feel-good 'Don't Talk to Irene', had its world premiere at TIFF 2017. It won Best Comedy Screenplay at the Austin Screenplay Competition. It also won the Comedy Vanguard Feature Award and Audience Award at the 2017 Austin Film Festival and The 2018 Kingston Canadian Film Festival. According to the Los Angeles Times, "it hits all the heartwarming notes".
