Oakley started her career as an actress in 2004, and then expanded to film and radio production a few years afterward.Oakley arrived in Australia as a refugee seeking asylum from the conflict in Vietnam, where she was born. She had a typical and uneventful upbringing in Melbourne, and moved to Canberra in 2005 to complete her legal studies, where she met her husband. The couple travel between Australia and Europe often, as they share equal affection for Canberra, Brisbane, Prague and Dresden.Oakley holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) from the Australian National University, and was admitted to the ACT Supreme Court in 2010. She has enjoyed parallel careers in media, public and legislative policy, innovation, and digital transformation.
