Nina Sallinen (SAG, AFTRA, AEA, FIA) is a professional actress, who grew up in Sweden and Finland. In Finland she received her Masters Degree from the NationalTheater Academy of Finland. Nina has since performed in over 80 theater productions; in Helsinki , Lahti , Tampere , Jyvaskyla and Lappeeranta in Finland. She has performed in Los Angeles, Chicago, Brooklyn, Ojai, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ohio in the U.S.; In Europe in Strassbourg, France (guest performance); Venice, Italy (festival); Oslo, Norway (Ibsen Festival); Stockholm, Sweden (as a guest artists at Boulevard Teatern); Novi Sad, Serbia (Shakespeare Festival), and Bitola, Macedonia (Bitola Shakespeare Festival and Bitola Mono Drama Festival).In Finland Nina performed at the National Theater , The Workers Theater in Tampere (TTT), Theater Jurkka , The Q Theater, Aurinko Theater, and Lahti City Theater. Nina starred as a series regular on two popular TV shows called Jaita Hattuun and Kolmannen Korvapuusti, performing with Finland's most well liked TV stars at the time; Heikki Kinnunen and Eija Ahvo. The shows were Venla nominated for best TV shows. After moving to The U.S., she co-founded The Walk About Theater Company in Chicago, where she performed her one woman show Poor Poor Lear first time for the American audiences. Her show was very well liked and she ended up performing her show for three more runs in Chicago. Poor Poor Lear has also received a Santa Barbara Independent Theater Award and two Bitola Monodrama Awards ( City of Bitola Award and Audience Favorite Award). Also Nina has received The Santa Barbara Independent Award for her role Uncle Scrooze in Lit Moon's production of Humbug. Nina has been nominated for her role Frankie Boy in Conquest of The Southpole produced by The Odyssey Theatre for the best supporting female performance by L.A Weekly. She received a nomination for the best ensemble by L.A Stage Alliance, at the Ovation Awards for Philip Ridley's play Mercury Fur produced by Need Theater Company. Also Odyssey Theater's production of Way to Heaven Nina performed in was nominated by LA Weekly and Critics Choice for Best production and Ensemble. In L.A., Nina has performed with the band Sparks in the musical The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman, performed at the Ford Amphitheater for the LA Film Festival as their live event. Other theaters here in L.A include; The Odyssey Theater Ensemble, Need Theater, Geffen Playhouse, Green Light Theater Company, Whitefire Theater Company and The Road Theater Company.
