Nimra Bucha is a Pakistani-British actor. She was born and grew up in Karachi. Bucha is one of four siblings. Her father was a pilot and as children they traveled a great deal. She went to an all girls school in Karachi called the Convent of Jesus and Mary. She went on to do a BA at Bard College in the US. She always wanted a career in acting but was afraid it would be frowned upon by her family so she graduated with a major in Political Science instead. After her marriage to writer and journalist Mohammed Hanif in 1995 they both started to produce plays. In 2008 Hanif wrote The Dictators Wife which was devised and performed by Bucha at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. That was followed by a career in television and film in Pakistan and more recently in Britain and the United States. Show less «
