Champion backstroke swimmer Dina Willemina Jacoba Senff was born on April 3, 1920 in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Neda won the gold medal in the women's 100 meter backstroke at the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin, Germany. Moreover, Senff not only won the Dutch title in the 100 meters backstroke in both 1935 and 1937, but also set five world records in the 100 meter, 150 yard, and 200 meter backstroke in 1936 and 1937. Neda was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1983. Senff died at age 75 on June 27, 1995 in Amstelveen, Noord-Holland, Netherlands. Show less «
